Twice a year, in February and November, members of the Guild meet for a weekend of sewing, inspiration, guidance, laughing, eating and a whole lot of fun! Sleeping is optional. Participants work on their own projects and, although we do not have a special teacher for these retreats, occasionally someone will demonstrate a new tool or technique. Each person has his or her own table space for sewing, cutting or planning. Bring all the supplies you need for your projects. Special projects are usually not planned as part of the event, unless the people within the group decide to do so beforehand. These retreats present a wonderful opportunity if you are having difficulty with a project since there are many very talented quilters who attend and are willing to share their knowledge.

The cost to attend either of the 2016 Sew-Ins is $60 per person plus sleeping room expenses (approximately $95, plus tax, for double occupancy.) Non-members/guests are welcome, based on availability. We have begun to take checks for the February 2016 retreat already. We will begin accepting checks for the November retreat starting in July.

Be certain to add this exciting, entertaining, get-away weekend to your calendar and register as soon as possible! We can only accommodate 30 people at the Sew-In, so reserve your spot now for a fun-filled retreat! For more information contact Annette Klingsporn at aklinger4750@gmail.com. If you have a preferred roommate, please let Annette know. The rooming list has a 'cut-off' date three weeks before the event! Be sure to send your $60 to our PO Box as soon as you know you are able to attend, in order to not be disappointed. If there are too many people who have signed up, the postmark will be the deciding factor in determining whose check will be returned to them.

There will not be a Paducah trip for 2015, but how about the Des Moines AQS show for October 2015?

The show is September 30 - October 3, 2015. We will combine it with a visit to the Missouri Star Quilt Company in Hamilton, MO. I am planning a 4-day trip. Final cost will be available at January 2015 meeting, although the cost will be $425.00 This trip is a 'go'! I have received enough deposits to make it happen, so if you have been 'on the fence' about going, please be sure to get your deposit check and information form mailed in to our PO Box ASAP to reserve your place. Don't be disappointed by waiting too late only to find out that the bus is full!

NON-members may attend, as well. The cost will be the same for members and non-members. This is strictly first-come, first served, so don't delay!
